The waves roll in, the waves roll out, the seasons change, the climate shifts, life and death continue their eternal tango. Like a riptide of universal energy it is futile to fight against the current. Control is a fool's errand, a dream of the insane that is destined to humble the overzealous ego. Instead, surrender, embrace the ebb and flow and marvel at the chaotic governance of this world. Accepting the futility of our power provides the energy we need to reach our full potential."
Purgatory on Earth, the Sands Study documents the elegant beauty of the hellish dune landscape. The lore of purgatory is one of intense suffering, a place designed to punish the souls vanquished to it in order to purify them for eternal peace. The Sands Study is my attempt to capture the peace within the brutal landscape of the sand dunes. You can read the entire series statement and browse the rest of the collection here.
