"To achieve order you need chaos because order is chaos. Order requires an intricate symbiotic fabric interwoven across the spectrum, between dimensions, and through space and time. It involves systems we cannot see, systems we cannot know, all functioning simultaneously while we stand at the center of this swirling network in apparent disarray. But, study the blue prints and you see the true harmony in which we exist. All of the sparks, and smoke, and debris flying around us create a mosaic of energy flowing in elaborate patterns. It’s the almighty ecosystem, an elegant conglomerate sustaining life for eternity. It’s chaos, beautifully organized chaos."
Purgatory on Earth, the Sands Study documents the elegant beauty of the hellish dune landscape. The lore of purgatory is one of intense suffering, a place designed to punish the souls vanquished to it in order to purify them for eternal peace. The Sands Study is my attempt to capture the peace within the brutal landscape of the sand dunes. You can read the entire series statement and browse the rest of the collection here.
