"The path to self actualization is a daunting one. It requires patience and tolerance as you navigate a desolate wasteland that lies beyond a point of no return in search of an unknown destination located somewhere south of Nomansland. It’s easier to suppress the feelings, ignore the pain, forgo the daunting quest and avoid the self inflicted strife. But acceptance doesn’t hurt, forgiveness can’t maim, and love isn’t armed. Fear and pain are a veil for the true hindrance that scares us to the core, success. Our true potential is terrifying, and our biggest fear is realizing it but there’s no greater view than the one waiting for those that conquer it."
Purgatory on Earth, the Sands Study documents the elegant beauty of the hellish dune landscape. The lore of purgatory is one of intense suffering, a place designed to punish the souls vanquished to it in order to purify them for eternal peace. The Sands Study is my attempt to capture the peace within the brutal landscape of the sand dunes. You can read the entire series statement and browse the rest of the collection here.
