"Come Rain or Come Shine"
Oregon
"The cliche of an oasis is a pocket of nourishment hidden in the desert that appears to the wanderer with life saving implications. By definition, oases are just disruptions of the normal, something that provides respite from mundanity. Basically it’s change, but only welcome changes fall under the classification of an oasis. On principle, change is scary, we fear it and fight against it. Until we desire it, then it’s declared a sanctuary state. In hindsight most change is good and our instinct to reject it merely hinders our advancement. We’d rather drift dehydrated through the desert than risk falling prey to the deception on the horizon, but that illusory mirage beckoning could actually be the lush and leafy oasis we desperately need."
Every photograph in my landscape gallery is named after a song. I use music to help tell my story with the photo and the title "Come Rain or Come Shine" was carefully selected for that purpose. The Ray Charles track was the perfect encapsulation of the elegance in this lush oasis in the woods of Oregon and if you'd like to surrender to the forest with me I've included the song for you to play above.
This photograph is a limited edition of 100 and will arrive hand signed and numbered on the media of your choosing. Prices vary with the remaining edition quantity, for current pricing or additional information about this piece please email me.
