"Great possibilities lie in the great beyond. The universe is full of mysteries that we may never have the technology to unravel. The ifs outnumber the stars, the questions could fill the void, and all we can do is stand upon our rock and stare into it. If we reverse our gaze though, we will find another universe with just as many questions and just as many ifs, one with great possibilities that can be realized. It all rides on the astronaut and whether they are content in their current orbit or prepared to traverse infinity. Surely there is life beyond the stars but have we contacted all of the life here?"
Purgatory on Earth, the Sands Study documents the elegant beauty of the hellish dune landscape. The lore of purgatory is one of intense suffering, a place designed to punish the souls vanquished to it in order to purify them for eternal peace. The Sands Study is my attempt to capture the peace within the brutal landscape of the sand dunes. You can read the entire series statement and browse the rest of the collection here.
