"Light is for the photographer what acrylic is for the painter and, like the painter, we must study the means on which our work relies. Without light our canvases would be blank and so we learn how to utilize it to capture the vision in our mind. Over time we become magicians, manipulating the untouchable matter with finesse to capture the world through our perspective. Ultimately this mastery of control is what defines the artist. Just as the painter must master command of their brush, the photographer must master their control of the light. Only by doing so are we able to produce the masterpieces we seek."
Every photograph in my landscape gallery is named after a song. I use music to help tell my story with the photo and the title "Sunshine On My Shoulders" was carefully selected for that purpose. The John Denver track fit perfectly for this piece and if you'd like to drink in the glowing Tuscan countryside with me I've included the song for you to play above.
