"Gallows Pole"
Maldives
"Life and color erupt in the tropics. The sun, radiating joy, floods the world from sky to sea, enhancing every surface it encounters. Basking in that joy were four trees flaunting rich canopies while diluted in their shadow was an estranged beauty. Tattered and ragged, the gaunt stalks rose from the dirt, crooked and dejected from carrying the inflated bounty above. Their backdrop, a drab slab of neglected concrete, cracked and corroded, further soiling the dirt from which they sprung. A dull composition compared to the rainbow wrapped around it but like the wrought iron pot at the end, it contained the real treasure."
Every photograph in my landscape gallery is named after a song. I use music to help tell my story with the photo and the title "Gallows Pole" was carefully selected for that purpose. The Led Zeppelin track fit the bill perfectly for this piece and if you'd like a glimpse into a moment where I accepted my fate I've included the song for you to play above.
This photograph is a limited edition of 100 and will arrive hand signed and numbered on the media of your choosing. Prices vary with the remaining edition quantity, for current pricing or additional information about this piece please email me.
