"The Wind Cries Mary"

Colorado

"An icon of Colorado, the aspen is the precious pearl within the jagged oyster shell of the Rocky Mountains. With trunks of chalk and leaves like butterfly wings they’ve come to thrive in the high altitude. Deep in the hills, three elders shepard a prospering grove. Their knotted eyes monitor with a stoic wisdom. Their bark smooth despite their wrinkles, stained yet innocent. Like an ivory column these goliaths provide foundational support for a canopy weighted in gold. Humble, they welcome the traveler, mighty, they compel respect. These sage titans, with dignified allure, made the surrounding autumn wonderland vanish."

Every photograph in my landscape gallery is named after a song. I use music to help tell my story with the photo and the title "The Wind Cries Mary" was carefully selected for that purpose. The Jimi Hendrix track fit the bill perfectly for this piece and if you'd like to stand in awe of these three titans I've included the song for you to play above. To learn more about "The Wind Cries Mary" and its connection to the Jimi Hendrix song you can read its featured post as part of my "Behind the Title" blog series.

This photograph is a limited edition of 100 and will arrive hand signed and numbered on the media of your choosing. Prices vary with the remaining edition quantity, for current pricing or additional information about this piece please email me.
