"The bright colors of autumn had been on display but mother nature, sensing the grief in the air, sought to match that sorrowful morning. The fog crept in tenderly, aware of my fragile state, sent to atone for the injustice mere hours earlier. As the veil of vapor befell the valley, silence settled with it. The thin mountain air sat idle, but its brisk embrace was powerless to the numbness within. A vivid valley the day before now faded by blurred vision. Head spinning, heart aching, hands trembling, I watched the neighboring peak vanish into the gray."
Every photograph in my landscape gallery is named after a song. I use music to help tell my story with the photo and the title "Unfair Weather Friend" was carefully selected for that purpose. The Willie Nelson track fit the bill perfectly for this piece which is one of three in my collection taken on a very sorrowful day.
