It possesses the wisdom of the universe and the patience to let you think. It can be a fortress of focus or a kaleidoscope of wonder. It can consume you, bury you, rip you apart or swallow you whole, break you down to atoms and scatter them across the land. But a sapling will materialize, one fed by the earth and nurtured by the holy mother. Emerging from nature's womb revitalized and reborn you will exit forever possessed by the spirit of the woods. And the forest will remain, patiently waiting for its child to return home."
Every photograph in my landscape gallery is named after a song. I use music to help tell my story with the photo and the title "Starwood In Aspen" was carefully selected for that purpose. The John Denver song summarizes the longing for a treasured mountain hideaway perfectly and if you'd like to ramp up your desire to hike the aspen covered hills with me I've included the song for you to play above.
